Indefinite Articles

A or An

A + consonant sound
If the following word starts with a consonant sound, then we use a. Consonant sounds are b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l ,m, n, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z)

Examples:
A Cat
A Game
A Pencil case
A Store

An + Vowel sound
If the following word starts with a vowel sound, then we use an. The Vowels are a, e, i, o, and u.
Examples:
An Apple
An Easy job
An Old man
An Umbrella

Write in a or an in the following sentences
1)      I ate an apple today
2)      We went to school in a bus
3)      Harry put a letter into an envelope

4)    Andy cut an onion and put it on a plate
